希望の牧場・よしざわ（旧希望の牧場・ふくしま）（浪江町）Pilgrimage site

福島第一原発からわずか14km、浪江町と南相馬市小高区にまたがる30haの広大な牧場だ。当時浪江町には、牛3,500頭、豚3万頭が飼育されていた。福島第一原発事故で30km圏内は警戒区域になり、すべて飼育不可能に。放置された家畜は餓死、または殺処分された。そんな中、希望の牧場では高線量にもかかわらず避難を拒み、飼育を続けた。被曝牛は家畜としての価値はない。殺処分命令が出ても、「牛飼いが牛を殺せるか」と、震災から12年になる今も被ばく牛300頭を飼い続けている。

Just 14 km from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, the 30ha farm is situated in Namie Town crossing over to Odaka Ward, Minami Soma City. At the time of the accident, 3,500 cows and 30,000 pigs were being raised in Namie. After the accident at the nuclear power plant, a 30 km radius restricted zone was declared, where no livestock could be kept. Abandoned livestock either starved to death or were destroyed. Despite the high radiation levels, people at the Hope Farm refused to evacuate and continued to keep the cattle. The exposed cattle had no commercial value. Despite the order to kill the cattle, the Hope Farm retains 185 cattle today, 13 years since the disaster, saying, "How can a cattle farmer kill cattle”.
